ProTakip's team has built software for carpet-cleaning businesses for 22 years. Before smartphones existed, we put carpet-cleaning software on bank POS terminals so crews could take an order and print a receipt for the customer at the door. Today the same team ships one app for Android, iPhone and the web, and this CleanGuru vs ProTakip comparison is written from that experience. ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software: order, customer and payment tracking for carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning businesses, also used by dry cleaners and home and office cleaning teams.
CleanGuru is a US janitorial software built around bidding and estimating commercial buildings, sold as a subscription reported from about $59 a month, with no free plan.
The decisive difference is simple: CleanGuru helps you price a contract, while ProTakip runs the work every day after the customer says yes — every order, every customer message, every payment — for your whole team on one flat fee of $20 a month with unlimited users, no annual contract and the first three months free.
All prices, ratings and review excerpts below are as of September 2026. CleanGuru figures come from its public Google Play and App Store listings and from pricing as reported by third parties; we could not verify CleanGuru's current plan table on its own website. ProTakip figures come from its store listings.

CleanGuru vs ProTakip at a glance
For a small carpet-cleaning team, ProTakip is the better buy: one flat fee of $20 a month for unlimited users, the same full app on Android, iPhone and web, and a pickup-to-delivery workflow built for rugs. The table shows where CleanGuru differs, with every figure dated September 2026.

"Not verified" does not mean CleanGuru lacks a feature; it means we could not confirm it from sources we trust. Check CleanGuru's website for anything on that list that matters to you.
What CleanGuru offers
CleanGuru is built around the commercial cleaning bid: you walk a building, the software estimates labour and you send a price. Reviewers describe using the mobile app as a companion to the desktop version, including giving a prospective client an estimate on the walk-through without leaving the property.
As of September 2026 CleanGuru holds 4.3 on Google Play from 194 reviews and 4.51 on the App Store from 74 ratings.
What CleanGuru really costs in 2026
CleanGuru does not show a full plan table we could verify on its own website, so the figures below are as reported by third parties and reviewers in September 2026. Treat them as reported, not as a quote.
- Entry price, about $59 a month: $708 a year leaves your bank account.
- Reported $79 a month: $948 a year.
- A single module at $39 a month (one Google Play reviewer says it was raised to this price): $468 a year — for one module, not the whole toolkit.
We found no published annual prepaid price. We also could not verify whether extra users, extra modules or annual contracts cost more; the modular structure means the bill can grow as you add tools. The same reviewer reports that some calculations, such as hours of service per trip and the task hours summary, were removed from their plan, so confirm the exact tools you are paying for.
Worked example. Take an owner with four field staff. On the reported figures, that business spends at least $708–$948 a year on CleanGuru before any additional modules, and whether each of the five people needs a paid login is something you can only find out by asking. And that spend buys a bid tool: the daily pickup, delivery, customer messaging and payment tracking still has to live somewhere else.
On ProTakip the same five-person team pays one flat fee of $20 a month ($240 a year) with unlimited users and every feature included, cancels any month, and pays nothing for the first three months. Adding a sixth or seventh person in the busy season never changes the bill. For how cleaning businesses price their own services, see our carpet cleaning pricing guide.

What CleanGuru users complain about: sign-up, access and price changes
The largest cluster of negative CleanGuru reviews is about getting in. Several reviewers on both stores say the app asks for a login but they could not find where to create an account; one says the app did not recognise their email even though they had never registered.
I can't figure out where to create an account so therefore I cannot log in. — App Store review
This suggests the mobile app is designed as a companion to an account created elsewhere. Another reviewer could not install the app on a Samsung Galaxy tablet, while adding that the online version worked.
The second theme is price and trial terms. The reviewer who reported the module increase calls it "outrageously expensive", and an App Store reviewer objects to the trial being tied to a credit card.
Developers give a 30 day free trial only after providing all your automatic billing info. — App Store review
Smaller complaints include a user who could not change their business name after moving to a new state, and an employee who disliked that an employer can remove their access at any time. Missing features were the most frequent complaint theme in the sample..
Why carpet cleaners choose ProTakip
22 years in carpet cleaning, not a general tool with a carpet page. ProTakip was built for carpet and rug cleaning from the first line of code, and it is also used by upholstery, dry-cleaning and home-cleaning businesses. The workflow is yours: an order is received, goes into wash, becomes ready, goes out for delivery and is delivered, with its own list at every stage. You price per square metre or per item from your own price list, add extra services, and issue quotes from the same data. See our carpet cleaning software overview.
The same full app on Android, iPhone and the web. There is no lite mobile version and no separate desktop product to buy. The office works in a browser while drivers use their phones, and every platform gets the same update on the same day.
Proof at the door. Take photos at pickup so a damage dispute ends with a picture, not an argument. Print QR-coded labels ("3 / 7") for every rug and a receipt for the customer on a Bluetooth thermal printer, straight from the phone.
Know who is calling on Android before you answer. With Caller ID on Android, the caller's name, address, balance and open orders appear before the phone rings through — even with the app closed and no signal. In the office the same card comes through the switchboard or a USB caller-ID device.
Customers stop calling to ask. ProTakip sends automatic SMS and WhatsApp messages at every order stage, including for international customers, with a tracking link. Our guide to customer notifications over WhatsApp shows how it cuts "is my rug ready?" calls. Delivery routes are optimised automatically and shown on a map with navigation.
Fair terms. Unlimited users on one flat fee, no annual contract, and your data is yours. Our team migrates your customers and orders for free, and support is live and human inside the app. Owners rate it 5.0 on Google Play and 4.98 on the App Store (September 2026), and every one of the 42 written reviews is five stars.

Head-to-head: the five differences that decide it
ProTakip comes out ahead on each of the five points below for a small carpet-cleaning business; each one ends with what it means for your crew.
Job to be done: winning the contract versus running the work
CleanGuru's job is before the job exists: walk a building, estimate labour, send a bid. ProTakip is strongest after the customer says yes: taking the order, moving it through stages, notifying the customer and tracking what is owed. Most carpet cleaners do not lose money on the bid — they lose it on missed pickups, repeated status calls and unpaid balances, and that is exactly what ProTakip fixes.
Pricing model: modules versus one flat price
CleanGuru is reported from about $59 a month, and a reviewer describes buying individual modules, one of which rose to $39 a month. Costs can rise as you add tools. ProTakip is one flat monthly fee with unlimited users and every feature included, so hiring seasonal staff never changes the bill. Compare other models in our ZenMaid vs ProTakip and Swept vs ProTakip comparisons.
Getting started: card up front versus three months free
According to an App Store reviewer, CleanGuru's 30-day trial requires billing details, and several reviewers struggled to find where to create an account. ProTakip's first three months are free with no credit card, and you sign in with the Google or Apple account already on your phone. You can be taking real orders the same evening.
Customer communication: not verified versus built in
We could not verify whether CleanGuru sends automatic SMS or WhatsApp updates. ProTakip sends them at every order stage, with a tracking link, and adds a WhatsApp Business inbox, bulk SMS and satisfaction surveys. For residential and carpet work, where every customer wants to know when their rug comes back, this is what makes a three-person company look like a professional operation.
Industry fit: commercial buildings versus items and homes
CleanGuru's praise and complaints point to commercial janitorial bidding. ProTakip shows its carpet roots in the details: square-metre pricing, item photos, QR labels, a pickup-and-delivery pipeline and Caller ID that keeps working when the phone drops data. For a janitorial operations tool, see our Janitorial Manager vs ProTakip comparison.
Why ProTakip is the best CleanGuru alternative for a small carpet-cleaning business
ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software for one-to-fifteen-person teams; this is why it is the best CleanGuru alternative for that business.
For a carpet, rug, upholstery, dry-cleaning or home-cleaning business with one to fifteen people, we are the better buy. You get the full pickup-to-delivery pipeline, automatic SMS and WhatsApp updates at every stage, Caller ID on Android that works with no signal, photos, QR labels and Bluetooth receipts at the door, optimised delivery routes, a cash register, receivables and daily to monthly reports — on Android, iPhone and web, for the whole team, on one flat fee.
A bid tool leaves the working day to spreadsheets and the owner's memory. We built ProTakip for that working day: the driver sees today's route, the office sees what is in the wash and what is ready, and the owner sees who still owes money. Home-cleaning teams also get recurring jobs and an appointments calendar; see ProTakip for home cleaning businesses.
And if you already win commercial contracts, ProTakip runs those jobs just as well once they are signed. Our guide on how to choose cleaning software lists the questions to ask any vendor — ask them of us too.
A note from the founder. We built ProTakip for carpet-cleaning owners tired of paying for every new hire and fighting menus made for other trades. No sales pitch: use it free for three months with your whole team, no card needed. If it works for you, it is $20 a month. If it doesn't, you leave, and your data is yours.
Start free for three months, no card required: download ProTakip and run your next week of orders on it — the same full app on Android, iPhone and web, unlimited users, no contract.
Switching from CleanGuru to ProTakip without losing data
You do not move anything yourself. Send us your customer list and job history, and our team imports it for free. Run both apps side by side for two weeks, check that every customer and open order arrived, then cancel the old subscription — with three months free, the overlap costs you nothing. Read the switching and data migration guide for the step-by-step process, or see all comparisons.
Frequently asked questions
How much does CleanGuru cost compared with ProTakip?
As reported in September 2026, CleanGuru starts from about $59 a month ($708 a year), with some sources listing $79 a month ($948 a year), and one Google Play reviewer says a single-module plan was raised to $39 a month ($468 a year). We could not verify the full plan table. ProTakip is one flat monthly fee with unlimited users and all features included, no annual contract, no setup fee, and the first three months free.
Is CleanGuru or ProTakip better for carpet and rug cleaning?
For a small carpet and rug cleaning team, ProTakip. First, it tracks every order from pickup through wash, ready and delivery, prices per square metre or per item, and prints QR labels and receipts on a Bluetooth printer at the door. Second, it keeps customers informed with automatic SMS and WhatsApp and shows the caller's balance and open orders on Android before you answer. CleanGuru is built for janitorial bidding.
Can I move my data from CleanGuru to ProTakip?
Yes. Our team imports your customer list and job history for you at no charge, and the first three months are free with no credit card required. Run both apps side by side for two weeks, check that everything arrived, then cancel the old subscription.
Does ProTakip calculate janitorial bids like CleanGuru?
ProTakip does not estimate cleaning hours from building type. It has a quotes and estimates module that prices jobs from your own price list, per square metre or per item, plus extra services — and once the customer says yes, the quote becomes an order that ProTakip runs all the way to delivery and payment. If your business needs it, tell us in the in-app chat: ProTakip is built around what its customers ask for, and the first three months are free while you find out.
Does ProTakip integrate with QuickBooks or take card payments?
As of September 2026 ProTakip has no accounting integration and does not process card payments from end customers. It covers the cash register, income and expense tracking, receivables and daily to monthly reports inside the app, for every user on one flat fee. If you need a QuickBooks, Xero, Square, Stripe or other sync, tell us in the in-app chat: we build the connection for your account, and the first three months are free while we do.
