⚖️ Software Comparison

FieldRoutes vs ProTakip: Why Carpet Cleaners Choose a Cleaning App, Not Pest Software

22 years of carpet-cleaning software versus a pest-control routing platform. We compared what FieldRoutes really costs, app ratings, workflow and fit, and why small carpet, rug and upholstery cleaners choose ProTakip. ProTakip: $20 a month, unlimited users, first three months free.

FieldRoutes vs ProTakip: for 22 years the team behind ProTakip has built software for one trade only, carpet cleaning. Before smartphones existed, we put carpet-cleaning software on bank POS terminals so crews could take an order and print a receipt for the customer at the door. Today the same team ships one full app for Android, iPhone and the web, used by carpet, rug and upholstery cleaners in Türkiye and internationally. ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software: order, customer and payment tracking for carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning businesses, also used by dry cleaners and home and office cleaning teams.

FieldRoutes, now part of ServiceTitan, is route-and-sales software for pest control and lawn care companies, sold through a demo and a custom quote reported from around $350 a month. To be plain from the start: ProTakip is a carpet & upholstery cleaning program and is not aimed at pest control or lawn care. This page is for carpet, rug, upholstery and home cleaners who are looking at FieldRoutes, or who ended up on it.

The decisive difference for them: FieldRoutes asks you to buy a pest company's workflow at a quote-only price, while ProTakip gives you a cleaning workflow on one flat fee of $20 a month with unlimited users, no contract and the first three months free. All figures are as of September 2026: pricing as reported or published, ratings as shown on Google Play and the App Store.

What FieldRoutes offers

Routing is the centre of the product. According to FieldRoutes's website (September 2026), its routing uses real-time data to reduce drive time, vehicle wear and fuel costs, and a drag-and-drop scheduler sends automated customer reminders. The mobile app handles contract signing, payment processing and service delivery, billing can run on autopay, and Marketing Pro and Fleet Pro are sold as add-ons for larger operations. It is aimed at pest and lawn companies whose reps sign customers at the door and feed them into recurring routes.

Our PestPac vs ProTakip and Briostack vs ProTakip pages cover other pest platforms. For a cleaning business the question is whether a pest-route platform fits the way rugs move through your shop.

What FieldRoutes really costs in 2026

You cannot see a FieldRoutes price until you have been through a demo. The vendor does not publish a price list; you describe your operation and receive a custom quote. Based on prices as reported in September 2026, plans start from around $350 per month depending on size and modules. In cash, that is at least $4,200 a year leaving your bank account before anything else is added. No annual prepaid figure is published, and there is no free plan and no self-serve trial.

Several costs can sit on top of that starting point:

A worked example. Take a carpet cleaning owner with four field staff: two drivers and two washers. On FieldRoutes the reported starting point alone is around $350 a month, $4,200 a year, and because per-user charges are not published you cannot tell from the website whether five logins keep you at that figure. Add Fleet Pro and card processing fees, and the team's real yearly bill is only known after a sales call.

The same five-person team on ProTakip pays one flat fee of $20 a month ($240 a year). All five get their own login, as does any seasonal helper, at no extra cost. Route optimisation and vehicle GPS are included, there is no annual contract, you can cancel any month, and the first three months cost nothing. Current pricing is on our download page; our guide to choosing carpet cleaning software shows how to compare these costs honestly.

What FieldRoutes users complain about in reviews

FieldRoutes reviews on the stores are rough as of September 2026. The Android app is rated 2.0 from 220 reviews, and in a sample of 169 recent Google Play reviews, 117 were one-star. On iPhone it sits at 3.56 from 18 ratings. The developer replied to roughly one in five sampled Google Play reviews.

The most common theme is crashes and bugs, followed by missing features and slowness. A recurring report is that typed notes get deleted or rewritten while the technician is still typing:

"Since the last update, whenever I go to put notes in… the app will delete and re-add what I typed." — Google Play review

Others describe load times and weak-signal behaviour that hurt in the field. One technician wrote that the app is "unusable with poor signal", and another summed it up this way:

"Takes 4 times longer to load (without pictures) than Amazon. Directions don't work with Android Auto." — Google Play review

Technicians also report repetitive data entry at every stop and an automatic check-in that fires whenever they open a customer card. Some users outside core pest control feel the fit is narrow:

"Very disappointed with the FieldRoutes mobile app for lawn chemical businesses. The system seems heavily geared toward pest control companies." — App Store review

If a lawn business finds it too pest-centric, a carpet cleaner should expect a wider gap.

Why carpet cleaners choose ProTakip

22 years in one trade. ProTakip is not a general job tool with a carpet cleaning landing page. Our team has written software for carpet-cleaning businesses for 22 years, from bank POS terminals that printed a receipt at the customer's door to today's third-generation app. Every screen follows the way a rug actually moves: received, in wash, ready, out for delivery, delivered, paid. See our overviews of carpet cleaning software and home cleaning software for the full tour.

One full app on every phone. Android, iPhone and a browser web panel are built from one codebase, so every platform gets the same version on the same day. No cut-down mobile version: owner, driver and washer all use the same app.

Labels, photos and receipts at the door. At pickup you photograph each rug's condition, which ends the "that stain wasn't there" argument before it starts. Each item gets a QR label printed on a Bluetooth thermal printer from the phone, showing its place in the order, such as "3 / 7", and the customer gets a printed receipt on the spot. Pricing works per square metre or per item.

Know who is calling on Android before you answer. On Android, Caller ID shows the customer's name, address, notes, balance and open orders before the phone rings — even with the app closed and no signal, because the customer list lives on the phone. On the office computer the same card comes through a USB caller-ID device or a cloud switchboard. (There is no caller card on iPhone.)

Customers informed without typing. Automatic SMS and WhatsApp messages go out at every stage, SMS works for international customers too, and a tracking link lets customers check status themselves. Fewer "is my rug ready?" calls means more time washing. Our guide to customer notifications over WhatsApp and SMS shows the messages.

Deliveries in the right order. When orders are ready, delivery routes are optimised automatically, with map view, navigation and vehicle GPS tracking; our delivery and route planning guide shows it in practice.

Head-to-head: the five differences that decide it

ProTakip comes out ahead on each of the five points below for a small carpet-cleaning business; each one ends with what it means for your crew.

Industry fit decides almost everything

FieldRoutes models recurring treatments: products applied, target pests, service subscriptions and door-to-door sign-ups. ProTakip models an item that leaves the customer's home and comes back clean, with square-metre pricing and item labels. A cleaning team on FieldRoutes would ignore half the fields and still miss the stages it needs; ProTakip is built for your trade.

A flat fee beats a quote you only see after a demo

FieldRoutes is reported from around $350 per month — at least $4,200 a year — with Pro add-ons and payment processing on top. ProTakip is one flat monthly price with unlimited users and all features, and three free months to test it. Adding a seasonal driver does not change your bill.

The mobile app is where your day succeeds or fails

FieldRoutes's Android app is rated 2.0 from 220 reviews, with reviewers describing crashes, disappearing notes and slow loading. ProTakip is rated 5.0 on Google Play and 4.98 on the App Store. For a small team with no IT person, an app that keeps your notes means fewer missed details and fewer calls back to the office.

Sales routing and pickup-and-delivery are different jobs

FieldRoutes's routing suits dense recurring pest routes and reps signing contracts at the door. A cleaning business needs to know which rugs are ready, who is waiting and in what order to drop them off. ProTakip optimises exactly that delivery run and tells the customer the order is on its way.

Payments and contracts: card processing versus no lock-in

FieldRoutes processes card payments and autopay inside the product, per its website.. ProTakip records payments, receivables and daily cash in its cash register, with no annual contract, while FieldRoutes contract terms are not published. Our payment collection guide covers the options.

Why ProTakip is the best FieldRoutes alternative for a small carpet-cleaning business

ProTakip is carpet cleaning software and cleaning business software for one-to-fifteen-person teams; this is why it is the best FieldRoutes alternative for that business.

If you clean carpets, rugs, sofas or homes and run the business from your phone with a team of one to fifteen people, ProTakip is the better buy. We have built software for your trade for 22 years, and it shows in the details a pest platform does not have: photos and QR labels at pickup, a receipt printed at the door, per-square-metre pricing, and an order board that shows exactly which rugs are in wash, which are ready and which are out for delivery.

Your Android phone tells you who is calling and what they owe before you answer, even with no signal; customers get SMS and WhatsApp updates at every stage; and everyone uses the same full app on Android, iPhone or the web. And you pay for it the way a small business should: one flat monthly fee, unlimited users, no annual contract, no setup fee, first three months free. No sales call, no add-on surprises. You can see all comparisons to check other options.

A note from the founder. We built ProTakip for carpet-cleaning owners tired of paying for every new hire and fighting menus made for other trades. No sales pitch: use it free for three months with your whole team, no card needed. If it works for you, it is $20 a month. If it doesn't, you leave, and your data is yours.

Start free for three months, no card required: download ProTakip and run your next week of orders on it — the same full app on Android, iPhone and web, unlimited users, no contract.

Switching from FieldRoutes to ProTakip without losing data

If you are a cleaning business moving off FieldRoutes, you do not re-enter anything. Export your customer list and job history, and the ProTakip team imports it for you free of charge. Run both systems side by side for two weeks, check that customers and balances came across correctly, then cancel the old subscription under your FieldRoutes terms. With three months free, the switch costs you nothing. Our switching and data migration guide lists what to export and in what order.

Frequently asked questions

How much does FieldRoutes cost compared with ProTakip?

FieldRoutes does not publish a price list; it is sold through a demo and a custom quote, with pricing reported from around $350 per month as of September 2026. That is at least $4,200 a year before Pro add-ons and card processing fees, and there is no free plan. ProTakip is one flat subscription of $20 a month ($240 a year) with unlimited users and every feature included, no annual contract and no setup fee, and the first three months are free with no credit card.

Is FieldRoutes or ProTakip better for carpet and rug cleaning?

For a small carpet, rug or upholstery cleaning team, choose ProTakip, for two concrete reasons. First, the workflow follows the item: pickup, wash, ready, delivery and payment, with photos at pickup, QR labels on each rug and automatic SMS or WhatsApp updates at every stage. Second, you pay one flat fee with unlimited users and no contract instead of a quote reported from around $350 a month. FieldRoutes is built around recurring pest-control and lawn-care visits, and its own reviewers note how strongly it is geared toward pest control.

Is ProTakip a FieldRoutes alternative for a pest control company?

ProTakip is a carpet and upholstery cleaning program and is not aimed at pest control: it has no door-to-door sales tools, chemical records or recurring treatment logic for pest routes. This comparison is not written for pest or lawn operations. If you clean carpets, rugs, sofas or homes, ProTakip is built for exactly your work.

Can I move my customer data from FieldRoutes to ProTakip?

Yes, if you run a cleaning business that ended up on FieldRoutes. Export your customer list and job history, and the ProTakip team imports it for you at no charge. Because the first three months are free, you can run both systems side by side for two weeks, check that customers, addresses and balances came across correctly, and only then stop the old subscription.

Does ProTakip work offline and on iPhone like FieldRoutes?

ProTakip runs the same full app on Android, iPhone and a web panel, released on the same day. Offline support is specific: Caller ID works fully offline on Android, and new orders created without signal are queued and synced when the connection returns. The Caller ID card is Android-only; on the office computer it comes through a switchboard or USB caller-ID device. FieldRoutes reviewers report that its app struggles with poor signal.

FieldRoutes is a trademark of its respective owner. ProTakip is not affiliated with or endorsed by FieldRoutes. Competitor pricing and ratings are as published on the vendor's website or app stores on 27 September 2026 and may change.
